meet Donna and Dan Stallard
Donna and Dan both grew up in Danville, Kentucky, where their story began as high school sweethearts. In 1980, Dan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and the following year, they were married.
During Dan’s second enlistment, God placed a call on his heart to enter Christian ministry. Together, they stepped out in faith, leaving the Corps to pursue Christian education and active ministry.
In 1992, Dan was ordained and commissioned as an Ensign in the Navy’s Chaplain Candidate Program. Three years later, he returned to active duty as a Navy Chaplain, where he faithfully served Sailors, Marines, and their families around the world. After four decades of combined military and ministry service, Dan and Donna retired in May 2020.
Now, after 48 years of friendship and 44 years of marriage, Donna and Dan remain passionate about their faith, family, and living a flourishing life in Christ. They are blessed with three grown and married children and delight in their six wonderful grandchildren. Today, they make their home in Ponte Vedra (Nocatee), Florida.
Donna and Dan are active members of Chets Creek Church at Palm Valley, Florida, where they continue to invest in their church and community. Since retiring, Dan has embraced several encore roles and is currently serving as co-investigator and lead site-coordinator in Get Better Together—a randomized controlled trial designed to strengthen military couples.
